Announcement has been made of the engagement of Sarah Valentine of Nesquehoning, daughter of Kenny and Karen Valentine of Quakake, to Mike Sweeney, son of Vince and Bernice Sweeney of Nesquehoning.

The bride-to-be is a 2003 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School and a 2009 graduate of the licensed practical nurse course at Lehigh Carbon Community College.She is employed as an LPN in the office of Dr. Carl Forster, Pottsville.Her fiance is a 1998 graduate of Panther Valley High School and a 2000 graduate of the Motorsports Technology program at Luzerne Community College.He is employed as a millwright in Philadelphia Local 1906.The couple is planning a Nov. 15, 2014 wedding.
