Two people were charged after narcotics were found when a state constable was serving an arrest warrant at an apartment at 322 W. Broad St. in Tamaqua.

The constable was serving a warrant on Gary Nureck and called Tamaqua police after observing drug-related items in the apartment. Two other people in the apartment were identified as Shannon Fredericks, 36, of 302 Spruce St., and Colin Houser, 30, of 409 W. Broad St., both of Tamaqua. Fredericks also had a pill bottle containing suspected marijuana on her.Both were charged with possession of a controlled substance. Houser had an outstanding warrant and was taken into custody while officers contacted Fredericks' probation officer about the parole violation.
