State police at Fern Ridge reported on two crashes probed by troopers on Monroe County roads. One involved a driver fleeing the scene.
A two-vehicle crash occurred about 10:54 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, along SR209 at the intersection with Rodenbach Lane, in Chestnuthill Township.
Troopers said Pina A. Bennicoff, 56, of Effort, was operating a 2010 Ford Fusion eastbound while Cody M. Heller, 19, of Gilbert, driving a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer, was stopped for a stop sign on Rodenbach Lane.
Troopers said Heller failed to yield the right-of-way and began to make a left turn onto 209 and struck the drivers' side of the Fusion.
After impact Heller fled the scene but was later identified, troopers said. Both drivers and a passenger with Bennicoff, Anthony Pucci, 35, of Effort, were all not injured.
Troopers said Heller was charged with multiple summary motor vehicle code violations.
A one vehicle crash was reported about 11:10 a.m. on Monday, April 22, along SR715 at Doll Road, in Jackson Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Thomas A. Tims, 19, of Effort, was operating a 1995 Jeep Wrangler southbound when he went off onto the left side while attempting to turn onto Doll Road from 715. The Jeep continued down an embankment and overturned onto the driver's side, where it came to rest.
Damages were minor to the Jeep and Tims was not injured.
