The Pleasant Valley and Tamaqua baseball teams both picked up victories on Thursday to remain undefeated in league play.

BASEBALL

PM West-Pleasant Vy.

Pleasant Valley improved to 3-0 in Mountain Valley Conference play, dismissing Pocono Mountain West 17-4 in five innings.

Dylan Pasnak pitched four innings, giving up just four hits and allowing no earned runs for the Bears (7-1,3-0).

Pleasant Valley's Nick Domenici had four RBIs on two hits.

Connor Cardenas had two hits and three RBIs. James Shank and Adam Raseley also had two hits for the Bears.

Tamaqua moved into first place in Division 1 of the Schuylkill League with a 10-8 victory over North Schuylkill.

The Raiders (7-1, 4-0 SL) offense saw five Tamaqua batters do damage at the plate.

Brett Kosciolek stayed hot for the Raiders, hitting a fourth-inning grand slam, his fourth homerun of the season.

Bo Rotett came through with three hits and an RBI, Troy Reinhardt knocked in a run on two doubles, Matt Roberts had two hits and RBI, and Ian Nicholls scored two runs and collected two hits.

Lehighton-ES South

Lehighton picked up a key MVC road victory with a 4-0 win over East Stroudsburg South.

The Indians' Josh Kern pitched a complete game shutout, allowing eight hits.

James Farano came up with two hits for Lehighton and Nick Hill had a hit and an RBI.

With the win, the Indians improve to 5-2 overall and 3-1 in Mountain Valley Conference play.

Marian-Williams Vy.

Marian and Williams Valley were tied 3-3 in a Schuylkill League game when it was called because of darkness after eight innings.

An accident in the area of Williams Valley High School prohibited the Colts from arriving on time, which delayed the start of the game until 5 p.m and kept the teams from completing the contest.

Marian scored all three of its runs in the second as KJ Snerr ripped a two-run single and Nick Kweder added a sacrifice fly.

The Colts also got a major contribution from pete Baddick who entered in a tie game in the fifth inning and tossed four scoreless innings of relief. Baddick's effort included escaping a one-out, runner on third jam in the seventh inning.

The game will be resumed on April 23 with the Colts coming to bat in the ninth inning.

Wilson-Northwestern

Northwestern scored a six runs over the fifth and sixth innings to pull away from Wilson for a 7-0 Colonial League victory.

Brandon Eden pitched a complete game shutout. Eden allowed just three hits, walking none and striking out four.

The Tigers Alex Smith collected two hits and drove in two runs, while teammate Brady Mengel added two hits and scored two runs.

With the win Northwestern improves to 7-2 overall and 4-2 in Colonial League play.

Wilson-Northwestern

Wilson scored three runs in seventh, rallying from a three-run deficit, and then scored four more runs in the ninth, taking home a 9-5 Colonial League victory.

Nicole Metzger had three hits, including two doubles, for the Lady Tigers.

For Wilson, Kendra Showalter had three hits, including a homerun.

With the loss, Northwestern drops to 3-4 on the season and 2-3 in league play.

Lehighton dropped a 9-3 MVC contest to the East Stroudsburg South, giving up seven runs in the first three innings.

Nicole Fryer had two hits and an RBI for the Cavaliers and Kim Fryer hit a homerun and scored a run en-route to the win.

For Lehighton, Cammi Nalesnik had two hits and two RBIs. Amanda Loudon collected three hits. Kelsey Andrews added two hits.

Lehighton drops to 1-6 and 0-4 in the MVC with the loss.

Saucon Vy.-Palmerton

Palmerton continued its march toward the postseason with a 3-2 Colonial League victory over Saucon Valley.

Tyler Snyder and Spencer Shigo aided the Bombers victory with straight set win in No. 1 and No. 2 singles action.

Rich Roselli and Hunter Roberts sealed the win for Palmerton with a 7-5, 6-4 victory in No. 2 doubles play.

With the win Palmerton improves to 7-3 and 5-3 in the league.
