Jerry and Diane Briggs of Tamaqua have announced the engagement of their daughter, Sara Behler of Barnesville, to Francis Flexer Jr., son of Louise and Francis Flexer Sr. of Tamaqua.

The bride-elect is a 2001 graduate of Marian Catholic High School and earned a bachelor's degree in special education from Kutztown University in 2005.She is currently employed by the Mahanoy Area School District.Her fiance is a 2002 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School and earned an associate degree in electronic engineering technology from Lincoln Technical Institute in 2003.He is employed by the Lehigh Valley Health Network.The couple is planning a Dec. 7, 2013 wedding.
