Monroe man facing retail theft count

A Monroe County man is facing a charge of retail theft.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said at 5:14 p.m. March 16 they were dispatched to the Rite Aid pharmacy in Mount Pocono for a male who fled the store following a theft incident. The report stated he fled in a black vehicle with New York state registration.A patrol unit observed the vehicle matching the description and stopped it. It was a 2005 Infinity sedan.The investigation revealed that the driver had in his possession items that were taken from the store, including Rogaine hair products and Crest whitening strips. The male provided a false name and birth date.The male was arrested and placed in the county prison. He was later identified as Jubal Uddin, 28, of 9737 Cardinal Lane, Tobyhanna. He has been charged with retail theft, receiving stolen property, tampering with evidence, and false identification to law enforcement.He was arraigned before a district judge with bail set at $2,500. He posted bond and was released.
