Carbon County Art League will present its fall show on Saturday, Oct. 6 and Sunday, Oct. 7 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. both days. The Hampton Inn, 877 Interchange Road (Route 209), Lehighton, will host the exhibit.

An opening reception will take place all day on Saturday. The show is free and open to the public.

Original artwork as well as prints will be available from some of the area's finest artists. The participating artists will be eligible for prizes.

In addition, local artists have submitted artwork to Family Promise of Carbon County to have made into Christmas and all occasion cards. These items will be on display and available for purchase during the show.

Proceeds from the cards will help Family Promise provide temporary shelter, meals and fellowship to help meet the basic needs of families without permanent housing.

These funds will help educate, encourage and empower participating families to become self-sufficient with support from the faith community and other local community resources.

The Hampton Inn stands where the home that was built for Bully and Helen Graver once stood. The house was later purchased by Mary and Richard Trainer, original owners of the Trainer's Inn who later sold the property to the Hampton Inn.

The fireplace that stands in the lobby of the inn was constructed out of the stone from the original building. There will be pictures on display of the original house.
