Trinity happenings

Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, will hold Service of the Word worship service at 9 a.m. The Rev. Carl G. Schweitzer will lead the service. Substitute clergy will preside during the pastoral vacancy. Coffee house fellowship follows.

A nursery will be available during the 9 a.m. worship service for children through age 6, staffed with an experienced caregiver who is trained in CPR and first aid and a youth volunteer.

Sunday School for children ages 3 through adults begins at 10:15.

An upcoming event is the CROP Walk at Lehigh Canal Park, Weissport, on Oct. 14, raising money to help alleviate hunger.

The walk begins at 2 p.m., registration is at 1 p.m. Twenty-five percent of money raised is given to the Trinity Food Pantry to distribute aid locally. Seventy-five percent is used for Church World Services world relief and development programs.

Lehighton Alumni Day planned

The eighth annual "All Alumni Family Day" for anyone who has attended Lehighton Area High School will be held Oct. 13 at the Lehighton Orioles Lodge.

Monroe Berger, coordinator, said the invitation is for anyone who attended L.A.H.S., or who has been associated with the school, is a spouse, and/or children of attendees.

Berger will provide musical entertainment (DJ and KJ) from noon until 8 p.m.

There will be a grill available for grilling your own food, and individuals should bring their own food and beverage.

Notebooks will used to enter suggestions as well as names, addresses, email addresses, and information about those attending and how to stay in contact.

Committees are also being organized.
