Kailee Rottet set the school-record for career goals with two first-half tallies and helped lead Tamaqua to a 4-1 win over Columbia Montour Vo-Tech on Tuesday.

Pleasant Valley also scored a girls soccer win, while Jim Thorpe and Northern Lehigh won on the boys side.

GIRLS SOCCER

CMVT-Tamaqua

With the goals Rottet now has 89 scores, surpassing the previous record of 88 held by Ali Updike (2007-10).

Lynn Kistler and Kaleigh Rabenold added scores to close out the scoring for the Raiders (9-4-1, 5-2-1).

PM East-Lehighton

In Mountain Valley Conference action, Pocono Mountain East (6-3-1, 4-2-1) defeated Lehighton (2-9, 1-6) by a score of 5-1.

Alyssa Simeone had two goals for Pocono Mountain East. Allison Andrew had the lone goal for Lehighton with Robin Cressley adding the assist.

ES North-Pleasant Vy.

The Bears rode a hat trick from Emily Schogl to shut out the Timberwolves by a 9-0 score in MVC play.

Dianna Connor added two goals, while Erin Sharpe, Maria Ciminio, Ema Sabovic and Keri Dekmar added the others. Connor also added three assists.

The Bears (9-2, 6-1) outshot the T'wolves 28-2.

BOYS SOCCER

Jim Thorpe-Pottsville

The Olympians scored two goals in the second half to shut out Pottsville 2-0 in a Schuylkill League Division I contest.

Corey Ligenza and Matt Rich scored the goals for Jim Thorpe and both also added assists.

Justin Kaminski had 13 saves in goal for the Olympians.

Lehighton-PM East

The Cardinals broke a halftime deadlock with second half goals from Elias Dimitropulous and Dom Haynes for a 2-0 win over the Indians in MVC play.

It was a defensive struggle as the Cardinals (7-3, 5-2) had seven shots on goal and the Indians (5-5, 2-5) one.

Pen Argyl-No. Lehigh

In Colonial League action, Northern Lehigh defeated Pen Argyl 3-0.

With the loss Pen Argyl falls to 2-9 overall.

Pleasant Vy.-ES North

The Timberwolves used a goal by Marquis Maynard off an assist from Tristan Williams for a dyuble overtime 1-0 upset win over the Bears in a Mountain Valley Conference match.

Zach Fuls had three saves in goal for the Bears (8-2-1, 5-2), who outshot the Timberwolves 31-8. East Stroudsburg North's Frank Raffa had 17 saves.

North's record is 6-4-1, 2-4 in the MVC.

Weatherly-Lourdes

The Red Raiders scored two second half goals to clinch a 3-1 win over the Wreckers in Schuylkill Division II play.

Josh Reiner tallied the lone Weatherly goal, despite outshooting Lourdes 15-12.

It was the first win of the season for the Red Raiders ((1-8, 1-5). Weatherly is now 1-7, 1-5.

Tamaqua-

No. Schuylkill

North Schuylkill used two first-half goals to defeat Tamaqua, 2-1.

The Raiders' lone goal was scored by Anatoly Dermo at the 24:08 mark of the second half. Steven Billet recorded the assist.

Tamaqua outshot the Spartans 15-7 in the loss.

FIELD HOCKEY

No. Lehigh-Wilson

In Colonial League action, Northern Lehigh defeated Wilson by a score of 5-1.

Jennie Fronheiser, Meghan Weil, Erika McKay, Kelsey Follweiler, Devon Pepe all had goals for Northern Lehigh. Northern Lehigh outshot Wilson 11-4.

Northwestern-

Palisades

The Pirates used a goal by Megan Thompson in overtime to pull out a 3-2 win over the Tigers.

Palisades held a 1-0 lead at halftime, but Alex Lerner scored off an assist by Kylee Bennett at the 13:03 mark to tie it at 1-1. Paige Horner's unassisted goal was the other score for Northwestern.

Palisaides held a 12-7 edge in shots on goal.

Palmerton-So. Lehigh

The Spartans scored four first half goals and cruised to a 7-0 victory over the Blue Bombers in Colonial League play.

Kristen Moisey had a pair of goals and two assists to lead the scoring for te Spartans.

Southern Lehigh outshot the Bombers 23-0.

The win was the 10th straight without a loss for Solehi, while the Bombers fell to 3-7.

GIRLS TENNIS

PM West-Pleasant Vy.

Pleasant Valley knocked off Pocono Mountain West, 5-2 in MVC play.

Madison Olexson and Emily Thek, the Bears' No. 1 and No. 3 singles players, each won in straight sets.

Local doubles teams of Sarina Tufano/Mackie Caffrey, Nyiah Nevarez/Paola Mieles and Cassi Snook/Ellie Heron also posted victories.

The Lady Olympians used four games to get a 3-1 win over the Golden Bears by scores of 25-22, 16-25, 25-15, 25-16 to up their record to 4-6, 3-4 on the season.

Makenzie Walck had eight kills and six blocks and Shannon Green added seven kills, four blocks and three service points for the Olympians. Riley Carroll also had 20 assists for the winners.

Jim Thorpe also won the JV game 2-0.

Pottsville-Panther Vy.

Pottsville defeated Panther Valley 25-21, 25-11, 25-14 in a Schuylkill League match.

Jessica Weise had six kills, three blocks and one service point for Panther Valley. Macey Mikovitch chipped in five kills for Panther Valley.

Millersburg-Weatherly

Millersburg swept Weatherly in Schuylkill League volleyball play, 25-17, 25-18, 25-6.

Alexis Hartz and Krissa Titus led the Wreckers' attack with two kills apiece. Titus also picked out 13 digs.

Weatherly dropped the first game of the JV match, but came back to win 15-25, 26-24, 26-24.

Pleasant Vy.

In Mountain Valley Conference action, Pleasant Valley (14-1, 6-0) defeated Stroudsburg in three very close and exciting games 25-23, 25-20, and 25-20 to remain undefeated in the MVC first half.

Courtney Miller had 10 kills and four blocks for Pleasant Valley. Steph Schmitt led the Bears with 16 assists while Allison Markowski contributed 14 digs.

Tamaqua-Lourdes

The Red Raiders needed four games to get by the Blue Raiders by scores of 25-18,16-25,21-25,21-25.

Carly Trovinger had 11 service points, three aces, 20 assists and three kills for the Raiders.

Rylee Devlin added seven kills and three digs and Devan Sweeney had 16 servicepoints, six aces, eight kills and four digs for Tamaqua.

Championship

North Schuylkill's Justine Paul fired a round of 76 at the par-68 Rolling Meadows Golf Course in Mowry to win the Schuylkill League Individual Girls Golf Championship.

Kaite Burke of Pottsville and Arianna Srinvasan of Marian tied with 94's, with Burke taking second on the second hole of a playoff.

Marian's Monica Wasik was fourth with a 97 , while her teammate Christy Digiandomenico was fifth with a 1-2.

Weatherly's Alixis Berger was sevewnth with a 108 and Jim Thorpe's Kaitlyn Wagner was 10th with a 118.
