A special stamp cancellation will be provided using the actual date of the incorporation of Palmerton at the Heritage Center, Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, on Oct. 14.

The announcement was made at the Sept. 10 meeting of the Palmerton Area Historical Society.

The borough has been celebrating the 100th anniversary of incorporation.

A banquet closing the centennial celebration will be held Sept. 25 at Blue Ridge Country Club.

In October there will be a reenactment of a Victorian funeral by Dale Freudenberger at the Little White Church, Oct. 28, 5:30 p.m.

The Veterans Memorial in the park and a parade are slated for Nov. 11.

The ecumenical service at the Little White Church will be held Dec. 2 at 7 p.m.

On Dec. 10 the Christmas dinner will be held at Blue Ridge Country Club. Kathy Long will tell stories.

Society member Mary Beth Beers is looking for Christmas memories or any holiday for a book. They may be left at the Heritage Center or emailed to curbeth@ptd.net [1].

The program for the night was a list of 100 questions to be answered about the United States government and a few about smaller units such as the state.

After they were all answered each group had four wrong Betsy Burnhauser said the questions are the list of questions from which those on the citizenship test are chosen.

Either 10 or 20 are chosen and 7 or 12 must be answered correctly.

They ranged from extremely easy: "What color is the flag?" to difficult, "How many voting members are in the House of Representatives?"
