Troopers said a crash occurred about 1:38 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 18, along Interstate 78, at SR100, in Upper Macungie Township. Nicholas E. Fullington, 24, of Lehighton, and Javier J. Vinasco, 50, of Allentown, were both eastbound on the ramp from I-78 to SR100 south. Vinasco stopped at a traffic signal at the end of the ramp.
Troopers said Fullington, traveling behind Vinasco, was unable to stop with the front of his 1987 Ford hitting the rear of Vinasco's 2007 Freightliner tractor with trailer.
No injuries were reported. Troopers cited Fullington for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
A two-vehicle crash occurred about 11:33 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 19, along US22, east of SR309, in South Whitehall Township. Troopers said Eva Diaz, 45, of Bethlehem, operating a 2003 Ford Windstar, was in the right eastbound lane while Russell V. Mattia, 48, of Pocono Summit, driving a 2011 Hyundai Sonata, was in the left eastbound lane.
Troopers said Diaz then attempted to move from the right to left lane and struck the rear passenger side of the Sonata.
No one was injured. Troopers cited Diaz for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
Troopers investigated a crash about 10:58 p.m. on Wednesday along SR309 in Lynn Township. Troopers said Thomas J. Hombosky, 53, of Frackville, was southbound when a deer entered the road in front of him. He swerved to avoid the animal with the right bumper of his 2006 Chevrolet Colorado hitting the guard rail on the west berm.
The vehicle bounced off the guide rail and Hombosky tried to regain control. The Colorado struck the guide rail a second time, dragging the entire passenger side against the rail. The vehicle finally went over the end of the guide rail with its passenger side tires and down a hill and hit a tree, where it came to rest.
Hombosky was not injured. He was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
