Heffley hosting pro-jobs public hearing Tuesday

Rep. Doyle Heffley (R-Carbon) will host a public hearing of the House Majority Policy Committee on Tuesday, Sept. 18 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Carbon County Courthouse, Courtroom One, 4 Broadway, Jim Thorpe.

It will be held to discuss workforce development, economic issues and job creation in Carbon County and how state government could help the private sector to spur growth. The hearing will include three panel discussions focusing on emerging and re-emerging industries and opportunities for job creation in the 122nd Legislative District.Those scheduled to attend are: Rep. Heffley; Rep. Dave Reed (R-Indiana), chairman of the House Majority Policy Committee; members of committee; Dawn Ferrante, director of Carbon County Office of Economic Development; Dr. Donald W. Snyder, president of Lehigh Carbon Community College; Ron Blisard, member of the Pennsylvania Workforce Investment Board and director of administrative services at KME Fire Apparatus; Joseph J. Sebelin, executive director of the Pocono Counties Workforce Investment Area; Jerry McAward, owner of Jim Thorpe River Adventures; John Kovatch, founder and CEO of KME-Kovatch Organization; John F.
