Pleasant Valley and Weatherly came away with wins in boys soccer on Friday.

Other local winners were Northern Lehigh in field hockey and Lehighton in girls volleyball.

BOYS SOCCER

Lehighton

-Stroudsburg

Stroudsburg came out on top against the visiting Indians 5-1 in MVC play.

Goals for Stroudsburg were scored by Christian Bukowski (two), Liam Cunningham, and Wesley Pasciak. Gabe Beebe, John Cilli, Nicola Scattolon, and Joshua Ellison all had assists in the Stroudsburg victory. Stroudsburg was aggressive; creating 25 shots and five corner kicks in the win.

The lone Lehighton goal was scored by Derek Berger in the second half.

Pleasant Vy

.-ES South

The visiting Bears defeated East Stroudsburg South, 2-0.

Both goals for Pleasant Valley were scored by Haris Sabovic.

The goalkeepers for Pleasant Valley and East Stroudsburg South were Zach Fuls (PV) and Luke Cason (ESS). Both goalies had strong games.

Lourdes-Weatherly

Weatherly defeated Lourdes in a non league game, 5-2.

Josh Reiner paved the way for Weatherly scoring three goals. Charlie Wallish scored on a header on a beautiful cross from Reiner later in the game. Trent Dempsey also added a goal. Wallish had two assists in the win.

Weatherly goalkeeper Adam Capone had 11 saves on the day.

Saucon Vy

Saucon Valley defeated Northwestern, 3-1.

FIELD HOCKEY

Stroudsburg

-Lehighton

Stroudsburg defeated Lehighton in Mountain Valley Conference action, 1-0. It took two halves and a patial overtime to determine Stroudsburg as the winner.

Rebecca Adelmann scored in overtime off of a centered pass delivered by Alyssa Jones. Stroudsburg had 17 shots to Lehighton's eight.

Stroudsburg improves its record to 4-0. Lehighton is currently 0-3.

The Mounts also won the JV game 1-0.

N'western-No. Lehigh

The Bulldogs handed the Tigers a 8-0 Colonial League setback.

Northern Lehigh had significant advantages in offensive statistics putting up 15 corners and 21 shots on goal.

Goals for Northern Lehigh were scored by Shannon Weil (two), Lauren Zellner (two), Kayla Brensinger (two), Erika Mckay, and Jackie Taylor. Assists were contributed by Jessie Olewine (two) and Jennie Fronheiser (two).

Bangor-Palmerton

The visiting Slaters defeated the Blue Bombers at home, 2-1. Palmerton was ahead at halftime, but two second half goals, both on corners. helped Bangor get the win.

Kyla Rodrigues scored the lone goal for Palmerton.

Bangor goals were scored by Emily Howell and Kiley Kichar.

Devon Smith had 21 saves in goal for Palmerton.
