Indians, Panthers grab volleyball wins

Lehighton and Panther Valley grabbed wins in volleyball on Tuesday night as the fall sports season got in to full swing.

In other action, Northwestern remained unbeaten in girls soccer and Lehighton picked up a win in cross country.GIRLS VOLLEYBALLStroudsburg-NorthwesternStroudsburg got the best of Northwestern in four sets for a 25-18, 25-11, 16-25, 25-16 victory over Northwestern.Trista Cunningham led the Tigers with 11 kills, while Jordan Veppert and Jenny Von Holt added six and five kills respectively.The Tigers' Mackenzie Hart finished with 14 assists, while Sara Hufnagle chipped in with nine.In the JV game, Stroudsburg scored a 25-15, 19-25, 15-13 win over Northwestern.Jim Thorpe-Blue Mt.The Eagles handed the Olympians a setback in three straight games by scores of 25-16, 25-10, 25-15 in a Schuylkill League Division I matchup.No other results wre submitted to THE TIMES NEWS.Lehighton-Saucon Vy.Lehighton swept Saucon Valley in its non-conference volleyball match, winning 25-23, 25-18, 25-19.Jackie Jordan led the Indians with 11 points on eight kills, two blocks and an ace.
