A 17-year-old male from Tamaqua was cited after he crashed his vehicle. The accident occurred about 11:48 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 28, along Meadow Lane, in Walker Township, outside Tamaqua.
State police at Frackville said the teen was driving a 2000 Honda Civic eastbound and approached a sharp right curve. He was traveling too fast to allow the vehicle to turn and it slid off the road on the north shoulder.
The car then impacted with a ditch at a small creek, causing significant damage to the front of the car.
The juvenile sustained a minor injury and was treated at the scene by Tamaqua ambulance personnel. Also assisting at the scene were volunteers from the New England Fire Company.
Troopers said the teen was cited for driving a vehicle at an (un) safe speed.
