Lehighton American Legion Post 314, held a flag program Monday that informed nearly 50 Lehighton area Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and their scoutmasters and leaders the proper flag etiquette.
Sharing a wealth of information was Charles J. Weber Jr., service officer for Post 314 and who is also an assistant administrator for Minsi Trails Boy Scout Council.
Weber shared flag facts and trivia. His presentation also included how military and the public should respect the flag during the Pledge of Allegiance and how to salute the flag during the singing of the national anthem.
The program continued with members of the Legion demonstrating the 13 folds of the flag and what each fold represents, followed with a presentation of the flag as it would take place at a military funeral.
The program is held annually by the Lehighton American Legion Post
