Several individuals were injured in a two-car crash Friday afternoon in Schuylkill County.

State Police at Schuylkill Haven said the accident happened at 3:47 p.m. on W Center Street, about 509 feet west of E Center Street.

The accident occurred as Wayne Kimmel, 47, of Donaldson, was operating his 1995 Chevrolet north on SR0125, and Ryan Donmoyer, 34, of Donaldson, was operating his 1992 Jeep south on SR0125.

For an unknown reason, Kimmel traveled into the southbound lane of travel and struck Donmoyer. Upon impact, Donmoyer's vehicle traveled clockwise in a southwest direction and came to final rest facing southwest along the west berm.

After impact with Donmoyer's vehicle, Kimmel's vehicle traveled clockwise in a northwest direction and came to final rest facing northwest along the southbound travel lane and the west berm.

Kimmel sustained a minor injury, while a passenger, Clair Kimmel, 47, 19, also sustained a minor injury. Donmoyer sustained a major injury, while a passenger, Kyle Bender, 15, sustained a minor injury.

None of the individuals were using safety equipment at the time of the accident.

Also assisting at the scene were Lifeflight No. 1, PennStar No. 4, Tremont EMS, West Schuylkill Advanced Life Support, Donaldson Fire Company, and Fire Police.

The roadway was closed for about two hours during the investigation, and traffic was detoured around the scene.

Kimmel was charged with roadways laned for traffic.
