A Lehighton man is facing drug charges following an incident in Mahaoning Twonship.

Township police said on Sunday, Oct. 14, they received a report from Lehighton police indicating James Jones, 33, and his girlfriend, Naomi Ellison, had been using false names, dates of birth, and Social Security numbers during emergency room visits at various hospitals throughout Carbon, Lehigh, and Schuylkill counties to obtain prescriptions for pain killers.As a result of the investigation it was learned that on Friday, Oct. 12, Jones used a false date of birth, and Social Security number to obtain a prescription at Lehighton Hospital for Lorcet, a Schedule II drug. Jones and Ellison later walked with her three children from Lehighton to the Walmart store where Ellison filled the prescription.Jones was arrested and has been charged with felonu counts of Aacquisition by misrepresentation, and criminal Conspiracy-acquisition by misrepresentation. He was taken to Carbon County prison where he was later arraigned by District Judge Casimir Kosciolek, of Lansford. Bail was set at $50,000, 10 percent. Charges are pending against Naomi Ellison.
