A Barnesville man is facing a driving under the influence charge following a one-vehicle accident in Rush Township on April 17.

Police were dispatched to Fairview Street in the area of Marian High School, at 3:11 a.m. Once on scene officers found a Chevrolet Lumina, which was off the roadway and against a tree. The driver, identified as Kenneth Shankweiler, 52, was found a short distance away.Shankweiler was transported to a Pottsville area hospital for blood work.The DUI charge is pending the results of those tests.
