Members of the Tamaqua Volunteers group are looking for all types of donations of clothing, toys, tools, appliances, furniture and anything else that could help a needy family in Tamaqua.

Volunteers are asking people to drop off all donations this Saturday (Oct. 20) between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. at the storage facility next to Schickram's Car Wash, located on Rose Street in Tamaqua.

The event will be weather dependent. If it is raining Saturday morning, the event will be held Sunday instead.

All items will then be given free to Tamaqua residents via a simple drawing. Any Tamaqua resident wanting to receive donations is encouraged to be there before 9 a.m. for the donation giveaway scheduled for 9:15 a.m.

For more information, message organizer Andrew Leibenguth on Facebook or call him at (570) 668-1234. "Almost everything is accepted," added Leibenguth. "The only requirement is that it be clean."

He pointed out that anyone can donate and volunteers are needed as well.
