A Pottsville man admitted in Carbon County Court on Thursday that he sexually assaulted a then-6-year-old girl over a two-year period from January 2008 to December 2010.

Lawrence Scott Danforth, 27, pleaded guilty before Judge Steven Serfass to sexual assault and corruption of a minor.

Serfass deferred sentencing pending a Megan's Law determination.

Others entering guilty pleas before Judge Serfass were:

Kevin M. Kordelski, 54, of Lehighton: DUI, with a blood-alcohol content of 0.24, three times the legal limit, on May 12 on Blakeslee Blvd. Charges were filed by Mahoning Township police.

Serfass sentenced Kordelski to six months probation, a $300 fine, 25 hours of community service. he also must pay court costs and fees, get a drug and alcohol evaluation and have absolutely no alcohol.

Peter G. McFadden, 36, of Lehighton: DUI, with a blood-alcohol content of 0.15, on March 11 on Fifth Street in Jim Thorpe. He was charged by state police at Lehighton.

Serfass sentenced McFadden to six months probation, 25 hours of community service, a $300 fine, and court costs and fees. he must pay a $10 fine for not wearing a seat belt..

Romero Lee McLain, 26, of Hampstead, NY: Possession of a controlled substance on July 30 in Victory Estates, Lehighton. Charges were filed by the state Attorney General's Office.

Serfass sentenced McLain to one to 12 months on that charge, plus 50 hours of community service. He'll get credit for the 31 days he's already served. McLain also pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property, and was sentenced to 12 months probation and 50 hours of community service. He also must pay court costs and fees. The sentences will run consecutively.

Amanda Messinger, 22, of Lehighton: Simple assault on May 6 in the area of 714 Mahoning St. charges were filed by Lehighton police.

Serfass sentenced Messinger to pay $215 in restitution for medical services, serve 24 months probation, perform 100 hours of community service, complete anger management counseling, and pay court costs and fees.

Theodore Dwight Minnich, 56, of Lehighton: DUI, with a blood-alcohol content of 0.25, more than three times the legal limit, on Jan. 8 on Blakeslee Blvd. Charges were filed by Mahoning Township police.

Serfass sentenced Minnich to six months probation, a $300 fine, and 25 hours of community service. he also must have a drug and alcohol evaluation and pay court costs and fees.

Ethan G. Robles, 21, of Slatington: Possession of marijuana on Sept. 29, 2011 in the area of 300 Mauch Chunk St. Charges were filed by Mahoning Township police.

Serfass agreed to admit Robles to the Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition program for one year. Robles must also pay court costs and fees, perform 50 hours of community service, and have a drug and alcohol evaluation.

Jamie L. Ruggiero, 36, of Jim Thorpe: DUI, two cases. The first happened on Dec. 15, 2011 on First Street in Lehighton; Ruggiero had a blood-alcohol content of 0.16. The second was on Center Street in Jim Thorpe, with a blood-alcohol content of 0.24, on March 30.

Serfass deferred sentencing.

Timothy Simcsuk, 24, of Palmerton: DUI, two cases, both on Dec. 15, 2011, with a blood-alcohol content of 0.16.

Serfass sentenced Simcsuk to six months probation, 25 hours of community service, a $300 fine for the first case. On the second, he sentenced Simcsuk to the same penalties. Both sentences run consecutively. Simcsuk must also pay court costs and fees.

Francis G. Vitagliano, Jr., 23, of Hammonton, NJ: Simple assault on May 18 at Sam Miller Field on North Avenue, Jim Thorpe. Charges were filed by Jim Thorpe police.

Serfass agreed to place Vitagliano the Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition program for two years. He must also perform 100 hours of community service, have a drug and alcohol evaluation, and not consume alcohol or drugs. He must also cooperate with urine testing. Vitagliano said he's entering a New jersey rehab program to kick a heroin habit, and has apologized to his victims.
