Trinity UCC, Tamaqua

The Rev. Thomas Reinsel will officiate at the 10 a.m. worship service this Sunday. Sunday school classes meet at 8:45 a.m. Coffee hour will be held at 11 a.m. Activities for next week will include: Monday, Bible study at 7 p.m. and Thursday, senior choir rehearsal at 6:30 p.m.

Zion Lutheran, Tamaqua

The Rev. Jeffrey Kistler will officiate at the 9:30 a.m. service this Sunday in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Sunday school classes will meet at 8:30. Also on Sunday, Scouts will meet at 6 p.m. Activities for next week include: Tuesday, Scouts meet at 6 p.m.; Thursday, Senior Choir Rehearsal at 7 p.m.

Zion Church, Lewistown Valley, will hold church service at 10:45 a.m. with the Rev. Sunny Stock officiating. Communion will be served during the service. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. The Calvary/Zion Youth Group will meet Sunday at 3 p.m. at the tabernacle.

St. Peter's Union, Mantzville

The Rev. Cheryl Moore will officiate at the 9 a.m. worship service this Sunday in St. Peter's Union Church, Mantzville. Sunday school classes meet at 10:15 a.m.

Also on Sunday, Daisies, Brownies and Cub Scouts will all meet at 6 p.m.

Activities for next week will include: Tuesday, WASP at 7 p.m.; Thursday, prayer group will meet at 4:45 p.m., cherub choir meets at 6:30 p.m., junior choir practices at 7 p.m. and the senior choir will rehearse at 7:30 p.m.

Calvary UM, Lewistown Valley

Sunday school starts at 9:15 a.m., with Rev. Edward Bean officiating at their 10:25 a.m. worship service. The service will also include a visit by Ms. Julia Peters sharing her work and ministry in the Dominican Republic. Peters will also perform special music. Then at 6:30 p.m. Rev. Bean will offer an informal "Evangelical Style" praise and worship bible study.

Bethany EC Church, Tamaqua

On Sunday, Traditional Worship Service starts at 8 a.m.; 9:30 a.m., Junior Membership Class and Sunday school start at 9:30 a.m.; Contemporary Worship Service starts at 10:30 a.m.; PLWG is at 11:45 a.m.; ABC Hi-Rise Service starts at 6 p.m.; and Resolution for Men and Women and Tuff Stuff for Jr./Sr. High both start at 7 p.m.

On Monday, 6:30 p.m., Forgiveness Study for Women starts at 6:30 p.m.; Drama Group is at 7 p.m.

On Tuesday, Encountering Jesus program starts at 11 a.m.; Football/Sports Group starts at 7 p.m.

On Wednesday, Tamaqua Youth Ministries and The Story program start at 6:30 p.m. GriefShare starts at 7 p.m.

On Thursday, Men's Fraternity starts at 6:30 p.m.

On Saturday, Musician practice starts at 8:30 a.m., Praise Practice starts at 9:30 a.m. and a Saturday Motorcycle Ride starts at 11 a.m.

Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Seniors met on Oct. 4 at the Tamaqua Community Center with 79 members in attendance. Rose Vallee provided the invocation, entitled "Hand me downs." Secretary Joan Ann Garber and Vice President Nancy Gerber provided their reports.

Helen Clouser and Carol Yanalavage are on the sick list. The trip to the Sands Casino was cancelled. An overnight trip to Turning Stone is Nov. 1; a trip to Olive Garden and Vanity Fair is planned for Oct. 29.

St. John UCC, Tamaqua

The Rev. Kevin Duffy Guy will officiate at the 9:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday in St. John United Church of Christ. The service will be followed by a time of fellowship, with refreshments. Sunday school classes for all ages will be held at 11 a.m.

The weekly radio program will be aired on WLSH - AM1410, at 11:30 a.m. Activities for next week will include: Wednesday, the choir will rehearse at 7:30 p.m.
