Between October 15 and October 31, the staff at the Tuscarora State Park will begin an 8 to 10 foot drawdown of the lake. Specific timing will be dictated by the weather. Staff and park officials will take advantage of this drawdown to replenish beach sand and make repairs to the beach markers. The drawdown will also affect the launching of boats as the water level drops at the boat cove. Officials add that if weather cooperates, the drawdown will be stopped with 7 to 10 days and lake conditions should be back to normal within a few weeks. The dam's inlet sits in the foreground of the Tuscarora Lake.
