State police at Frackville reported on two crashes investigated by troopers on Schuylkill County roads this week.

A crash occurred about 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 9, along SR61, about a mile south of Mall Road, in Blythe Township. Troopers said Leroy Long, 41, of Schuylkill Haven, was driving a 2008 Dodge Charger southbound when he said he swerved to avoid several deer that had entered the roadway. The car went onto the berm and struck a large rock embankment. Long was not injured but damages were termed heavy to the front end of the Charger.

A two-vehicle crash was reported about 5:26 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 7, along Interstate 81 in Mahanoy Township. Troopers said Dawn L. Fudge, 57, of Hazleton, driving a 2008 Dodge Nitro, was attempting to enter the interstate at the Mahanoy City on-ramp when she failed to stop for a stop sign and failed to yield to a 2001 Freightliner tractor with trailer operated by Joseph E. Mora Polanco, 40, of West Hazleton.

Fudge, her passenger, Ruth Rigotti, 58, of Hazle Township, and Polanco, were all not injured. Damages were disabling to the Nitro, troopers said.

Troopers cited Fudge for a stop sign violation.
