Palmerton Area Democratic Club (PADC) will meet Tuesday, Oct. 9, 7 p.m. at the Fireline Hotel, Bowmanstown. The program "Countdown to the Election Moving Forward!" will focus on organizing for the upcoming General Election.

Members of the PADC are also encouraged to attend the debate between the candidates for the 122nd District of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives Rep. Doyle Heffley, Republican, and Ron Rabenold, the Democratic challenger at Penn's Peak, Thursday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m.

At the September meeting, the PADC voted to continue to support the food bank run by the Community Action Council of Palmerton Area Churches (CACPAC). Those attending each meeting are asked to bring canned goods to be donated.

The PADC meets monthly, the second Tuesday of the month, September to May, 7 p.m. at the Fireline Hotel, Bowmanstown. The area covered by the club includes Palmerton, Bowmanstown, Towamensing Township and Lower Towamensing Township. Newcomers are welcome.
