Two break-ins, thefts probed

State police at Lehighton reported investigating two burglaries at Carbon County residences, and several theft incidents.

A break-in occurred at a residence at 585 Preachers Camp Rd., in Towamensing Township. Entry was gained by kicking open a rear door. Nothing was apparently taken. The incident occurred sometime between Sept. 14 and 28. The home is owned by Lee S. Whitaker, 65, of Haddon Heights, N.J.The second entry occurred at a residence at 1670 Lower Smith Gap Road, in Lower Towamensing Township. Entry was made sometime between 8 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 27. Miscellaneous jewelry was reported taken by homeowner, Yvonne Anthony, 52, of St. Charles, Ill.John Slater, 62, of Dogwood Lane, Polk Township, Monroe County, reported his Volkswagen Jetta was entered and removed was a wallet. The incident occurred sometime between 9 p.m. Sept. 25 and 10 a.m. on Sept. 26.The 2006 Subaru Outback of Christopher and Amanda Biehl, of Lehighton, was entered while parked along Lime St., at the baseball field in Bowmanstown, Carbon County. Taken was a bag of nursing supplies, a multi-colored purse, a debit card and a credit card. The incident was reported about 7:15 p.m. on Sept. 24.Jill Ann Turko, 54, of 1495 Walnut Rd., Palmerton, Lower Towamensing Township, reported a 2010 Suzuki RM-Z50 dirt bike, yellow in color, and a Simplicity citation series lawn mower was removed from the front porch of the residence sometime between 9:30 p.m. Sept. 24 and 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 25.Veronica Caputo, 47, of 9072 Robinhood Drive, Kunkletown, Polk Township, reported her Iphone 4S was stolen from her home.
