A Carbon County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) and a drug count following an incident in Lehigh County.

State police at Fogelsville said Adam John Gusick, 22, of Lansford, was stopped along Interstate 78 eastbound in Upper Saucon Township, about 3:45 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 28, for speeding, going 87 miles-per-hour in a 55 zone.

Gusick was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance, troopers said. He failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for DUI. Troopers added they found two containers with marijuana residue in his vehicle.

In addition to the DUI count, Gusick is also facing a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Charges will be filed, troopers said.
