Bowmanstown structure destroyed

A large wood frame structure was destroyed by a fast moving fire Saturday afternoon in the village of Bowmanstown. The fire was first reported just after 3 p.m. at the intersection of Forge and Peach streets and by the time firefighters from two counties arrived on scene the structure was fully involved in flames. The heat of the inferno was so intense it melted the siding of a garage across the street. One person was removed from the scene suffering from smoke inhalation and transported to an area hospital. Firefighters were hampered by frigid temperatures and high winds. Area fire police maintained traffic control rerouting traffic around the scene.
