Five area residents were among 14 who entered guilty pleas to crimnal charges in Schuylkill County court and were sentenced by President Judge Willian E. Baldwin.

Brandon L. Fritz, 26, of 233 Catawissa St., Tamaqua, driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol, serve 48 hours to six months in the county prison with the sentence to begin Monday, Nov. 26, at 9 a..m, pay a fine of $500, pay $100 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA) fund, $50 to MCARE fund, attend alcohol highway safety school, and driver's license suspended 12 months.

On a summary charge of exceeding the maximum speed limit by traveling 62 miles per hour in a 45 zone was fined $59 plus $50 costs. He also must submit to random urinalysis tests. Fritz was cited by Coaldale Patrolman Joseph Krebs.

Fritz also pleaded guilty to being involved in an accident at the intersection of West Broad and Lehigh streets, Tamaqua, on July 15, 2011, with a car driven by William Glen and failing to stop and was sentenced to serve 12 months on probation with the sentence to run concurrent with the DUI sentence.

He previously was placed in the Accelerated Rehabilative Dispostion (ARD) probation program by Senior Judge D. Michael Stine but violated the terms and was removed from the program.

Andrew Dotter, 25, of 218 Orwigsburg St., Tamaqua, on a charge of simple assault on Tina Hossler, of Orwigsburg, was placed on probation 23 months, and pay $50 to the CJEA. Charges of burglary and harassment were dropped. Dotter was cited by Tamaqua Parolman Thomas Rodgers.

Trustin Macalush, 23, of 134 E. Catawissa St., Rush Township, cashing bad checks, placed on probation 23 months, pay $50 to CJEA fund, and make restitution of $4,324.65 to Woodforest National Bank. He was cited by Rush Township Patrolman Carl Bachert.

Heather Marie Bernitsky, 33, of 125 Coal St., Cumbola, Blythe Township, passing a bad check for rental payment, placed on probation 12 months, pay $50 to CJEA fund, perform 10 hours community service, and make restitution of $471 to Joseph Turnitza, landlord.

Lisa Ann Ketchledge, 49, of 141 Hazle St., Apt. 2, Delano, criminal conspiracy with an accomplice for theft from Walmart Store, Hometown, was placed on probation 23 months, pay $50 to CJEA fund, and perform 20 hours of community service. On a summary charge of failing to have a driver's license was fined $200 plus $50 costs. Ketchledge was cited by Rush Patrolman Corey Herring.

Roshelle M. Coll, 48, of 4 E. Main St., Quakake, Rush Township, DUI of alcohol, sentenced to serve 30 days in the county prison with the sentence to begin Wednesday, Nov. 21, followed by four years and 11 months in the Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP) to begin at the expiration of the sentence imposed for driving while her operating privileges were suspended-DUI related, consisting of 90 days in the IPP, fined $1,500, pay $300 to SAE fund, $100 to Catastrophe fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, attend safety school, complete outpatient counseling, perform 20 hours community service, and driver's license suspended 18 months. On the charge of driving while license suspended was fined $1,000 plus $50 costs. Coll was cited by Rush Patrolman Adam Sinton.

John Paul Estrom, 31, Hazleton, criminal conspiracy to commit retail theft and retail theft, was placed on probation 23 months, pay $50 to CJEA fund, and restitution of $192.50 to the store. Estrom was cited by Rush Patrolman Corey Herring.

Edward Joseph Hunt III, 33, Pottsville, possession of drug paraphernalia, placed on probation 12 months, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, and perform 10 hours of service in the community. Hunt was cited by Pottsville Cpl. Mark D. O'Toole.

Jeifri J. Graciano-Suazo, 23, Shenandoah, possession of a controlled substance, sentenced to serve one to 12 months in the county prison and since he has served his minimum was released on parole, fined $200, pay $100 to SAE fund, perform 35 hours of community service, and make restitution of $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab. He was cited by Schuylkill County Drug Task Force.

Derek Mitchell Johnson, 27, Pottsville, on a charge of simple assault on Kelsey Evans on a two year old child, was given credit for serving in the county prison since July 9 and was released on probation for 23 months, and pay $100 to SAE fund. On charges of possession of a small amount of marihuana was sentenced to serve 30 days probation, on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, 12 months probation, both to run concurrent. Johnson was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Brian W. Kotzmoyer.

Ashley Nicole Renninger, 27, Pottsville, possession of drug paraphernalia, placed on probation 12 months, pay $100 to SAE fund, and $50 to CJEA fund. He was cited by Pottsville Patrolman John H. Mohl.

Suzanne Claire Hibbler, 41, Pottsville, DUI of alcohol, serve 72 hours to six months in the county prison with the sentence to begin Friday, Nov. 23, at 9 a.m., fined $1,000, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $50 to MCARE fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, attend alcohol highway safety school, receive outpatient treatment, perform 10 hours community service, driver's license suspended 12 months, submit to mental health evaluation, and submit to trandom urlinalysis tests. Hibbler was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Joseph R. Welsh.

James R. Hines, 22, Schuylkill Haven, delivery of a controlled substance, sentenced to serve one to 23 months in the county prison with the sentence to begin Friday, Dec. 14, at 9 a.m., fined $250, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, make resitution of $176 to Bethlehem Regional Lab, and $30 to Schuylkill County Drug Task Force. On a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia was fined $100 and must serve an additional 12 months on probation.

Michael Thomas Kane, 57, Pottsville, corruption of minors, sentenced to serve nine to 18 months in a state correctional facility and have no contact with victim. Kane was cited by Pottsville Det. Steven B. Guers.

He also pleaded guilty to criminal trespass on property at 415 N. Ninth St. and was given a current sentence and pay restitution of $7,055.95 to Jack Sarge. A charge of burglary was dropped. He was cited by Patrolman Renee R. Galle.

Carl Wayne Martin Jr., 45, Pottsville, criminal attempt to commit possession of a controlled substance, placed on probation three years, pay $100 to SAE fund, and $50 to CJEA fund. Martin was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Eugene M. Yourey.

Each defendant must also pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation for parole.
