A Dauphin County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following a one vehicle crash in Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Arturo A. Leon, 39, of Lykens, was driving a 2002 Acura MDX eastbound on SR443 in Wayne Township, about 1:44 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17, when it went onto the north berm.

The vehicle then struck a concrete culvert with its front end. After impact the Acura began to rotate counter-clockwise as it continued east on a grass lawn for about 150 feet.

The Acura then traveled about 20 feet across an asphalt driveway sideways and then struck a dirt embankment next to a house. The Acura became lodged in the embankment and had to be towed from the scene.

Leon was found to be under the influence and was transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, for a blood test. He sustained minor injuries in the crash, troopers said.

The DUI charge is pending the test results.
