State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating a crash involving a truck and car. The accident occurred about 5:45 p.m. on Nov. 1 along SR61 in North Manehim Township.

Troopers said Craig S. Blakely, 32, of Airville, York County, was driving a 2007 Peterbilt tractor with trailer southbound in the left lane while Kari A. Wetzel, 30, of Minersville, was in the right lane driving a 2010 Toyota Corolla.

Blakely attempted to change lanes and in doing so the left rear wheel well area of his rig struck the Corolla causing Wetzel to lose control. The Corolla spun counter-clockwise about 45 degrees slidng across all four lanes of the road. The car then slid down a small embankment along the shoulder swiping a small tree with the driver side. The Corolla came to rest along the northbound shoulder. The rig came to rest about 200-feet from the initial point of impact.

Wetzel and passenger Amy J. Sluzevich, 27, of Frackville, each sustained minor injuries and were taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, for treatment.

Blakely and his passenger, Shaun R. Mostert, 30, of York, and another passenger with Wetzel, Brittany J. Griffiths, 23, of Pottsville, were all not injured.

Troopers said Blakely was cited for traveling on roadways laned for traffic.

Troopers probed a one vehicle crash about 1:23 a.m. along SR61 in Tilden Township, Berks County. Troopers said Marcia Hughes, 41, of Wyomissing, Berks County, was driving a 2009 Mercedes-Benz southbound and negotiating a right curve when a deer entered the road in front of her. The car struck the deer and Hughes was able to stop the car on the shoulder.

Hughes was not injured but the car had to be towed from the scene.
