LAMS students plant flowers

This past Saturday, fifth graders from the Lehighton Area Middle School planted flowers to help beautify their hometown park.

As a part of the 5 Maroon Team and 5 White Team, area students get to participate in various activities just like this on a regular basis."It's great to see these kids get out of the classroom and do something to benefit the greater good for this community. I love to get involved in activities like this," said Jake Molchany, fifth-grade math teacher."We're all looking forward to many more future events, just like this one."Molchany and Sharon Focht, the fifth-grade English teacher, started the 5 Maroon and 5 White Teams to teach youngsters the value of community service and togetherness. For more information about community events with the Lehighton Middle School, or to get involved, visit
