BR Rifles holding traditional shoot

Blue Ridge Rifles Muzzleloader Club, located off Route 183, south of Summit Station, is holding the Eastern Pennsylvania Rendezvous and Muzzleloader Shoot this weekend. Shooting activities are today and Sunday, with the firing line open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with events for men, women and juniors at 25 and 50 yards.

All shooting events are for flintlock or traditional percussion rifles, smoothbores and pistols and there are novelty events. There are no entry registration or target fees for juniors, 16 and younger, as the match has been underwritten by a grant from the Pennsylvania Outdoor Writers Association.**********Landowners have until Friday, June 1, to enroll or renew their applications in the Pennsylvania Game Commission's Deer Management Assistance Program, which is an antlerless deer-hunting program to help landowners manage deer on their properties through hunting.Applications only are accepted by U.S. mail, and must be mailed to the PGC Region office serving the county in which the applicant's property is situated. Tom Corbett to serve as a member of the Pennsylvania Game Commission board of game commissioners. He will represent the District 8 of the PGC, which is the Southeast Region.Hoover is Glenolden borough manager, overseeing its day-to-day operations. He previously owned and operated South East Archery and Sports, which was one of the leading outdoor sales facilities in the Philadelphia region.A PGC hunter-trapper education course instructor for 27 years, Hoover holds degrees from Penn State University and Delaware County Community College.
