Volunteers are being sought to help with a new summer food service program that will begin in June in Summit Hill.
The program will provide free lunch to all school-aged children in the Panther Valley School District.
The lunches will be served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, beginning June 6 and continuing through Aug. 24, at the Summit Hill Heritage Center, 1 W. Hazard St.
The volunteers are being sought to help serve the lunches. Those volunteering do not have to attend all five weekdays. Even one-day-per-week volunteers will be appreciated.

St. Paul Lutheran
The Rev. John J. Deisinger, a retired pastor from Allentown, will lead the worship service at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Summit Hill, on Sunday, May 27. He will preside at the 10:30 a.m. worship service. Confirmands will be confirmed during the worship service.
The First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association, which consists of Branch 140, St. Ann Society, and Branch 46, St. Mary Magdalene Society, Lansford, will award monetary gifts to its members who will graduate from eighth grade and high school.
Information on the graduates (name, address of member, name of school and date of graduation) must be submitted to Carolyn Bazik, 121 W. Bertsch St., Lansford, PA 18232, for eighth grade graduates; or Louise Dunstan, 210 E. Patterson St., Lansford, PA., for high school graduates.
St. John Lutheran
On Sunday, May 27, at 8:45 a.m., St. John's Lutheran Church, 1 E. Abbott St., Lansford, will celebrate Pentecost. Megan Marouchoc will affirm her baptism in the confirmation service. As part of Memorial Day weekend, the congregation will also remember those members who gave the ultimate sacrifice for this country. Everyone is welcome.
St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford, will sponsor a bloodmobile for the Miller-Keystone Memorial Blood Center on Monday, June 18, from 1-6:30 p.m. in the church hall.
Miller-Keystone is the sole provider of blood for local hospitals.
Donors must be 17 years of age or older. Individuals can donate whole blood up to six times per year.

Area veterans from as far back as World War I will be honored during a special Memorial Day service at First Congregational Church, 123 E. Ruddle St., Coaldale, at 9 a.m. Sunday, May 27. The public is welcome to attend.
A slide program of pictures of the veterans will begin at 8:50 a.m.
The Panther Valley High School JROTC will take part in the service, as will the Community Choir, comprised of members of churches in the Panther Valley and Tamaqua.
