A New York teen was arrested for the armed robbery of a Monroe County service station and may have been involved in a string of robberies occurring in Monroe and Luzerne counties.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said Christopher Strohbach, 19, has been charged with the robbery of the Exxon station in Tunkhannock Township, that occurred about 11:12 p.m. on May 16.

Police allege that Strohback robbed the station and fled in a dark colored vehicle towards Wilkes-Barre. As he fled the lot he almost collided head-on with another vehicle. The other driver was able to secure the license plate on the fleeing car.

Strohback turned himself into Pocono police on May 17 at 3:30 p.m.

He was arraigned before a district judge and committed to the county prison in Snydersville in lieu of $100,000 bail.

Police said it appears Strohbach may have been involved in numerous other burglaries and robberies on the night of May 16 in the two-county area.

The investigation is continuing.
