American Fire Company No. 1, Lansford, responded to 24 alarms during April.

Fire Chief Joseph Cannon said this brings the total responses for the year to 63.

Of those 24 calls, five were automatic alarms, five public assists, four dwelling/structure fires, four EMS assists, three Rapid Intervention Team responses, two other type fires, and one motor vehicle accident.

Seventeen of the April alarms were in Lansford, three were in Summit Hill, and one each were in Coaldale, Nesquehoning, Tamaqua, and Jim Thorpe.

The firefighters spent 31.5 accumulative hours fund raising in April, and 110 total man hours training. They also spent 37 man hours for community service and 80 total man hours for administrative duties.

So far, in the first four months this year, the members of the Lansford Fire Department spent 549.5 hours fund raising, 921.5 man hours training, 373.25 man hours with community service, and 320 man hours for administrative duties.
