The Carbon County Art League has been hosting an annual art show open to all artists in Carbon County or members for the past 30 years.

This year's show is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, June 2-3, from noon to 5 p.m. at the Anita Shapolsky Art Gallery on 20 W. Broadway in Jim Thorpe.

The artists are competing in four different categories: oil and acrylic; watercolor; photography; sculpture and mix media.

Award money totaling $1,000 will be presented during the closing artist reception on Sunday from 2-5 p.m.

The public is invited to attend this community event, see the art and meet the artists. Admission is free, but donations are accepted and appreciated and help fund the art league's scholarship program.

The Carbon County Art League is composed of painters, sculptors, printers, photographers, ceramists, calligraphers, and those who work in wood, glass, metal and other mixed media; as well as art instructors, students, connoisseurs, and others who are interested in the arts and dedicated to inspiring and encouraging one another. The league strives to encourage and foster an awareness of the artists in Carbon County.
