The Panther Valley Breaker Boys defeated the Schuykill County Wolfpack, 34-27, in Great Eastern Football Association game on Saturday.

The Schuykill County Wolfpack were undefeated in their last 19 games, including a Keystone Bowl championship going in to this game."This is our biggest win on the biggest stage," said Breaker Boys player/coach Scott Reese. "We went in and played the game of our lives. Every player played a vital role in this victory. It was a total team victory."Former Lehigh University and Jim Thorpe Olympian star Craig Zurn had a big game after entering as quarterback in the second quarter for the Breaker Boys. Zurn finished 12-for-15 for 112 yards and four touchdowns. He also carried the ball nine times for 60 yards and a score.Zurn had plenty of help from his receivers as Tom Schreppel had four receptions for 39 yards and two touchdowns and Shawn Nunemacher added four receptions for 22 yards, a touchdown, and a pair of two-point conversions.The Breaker Boys would take their first lead of the game in the fourth quarter when Zurn hit Jesse Lincovich, who caught a hitch route and made a move on a Wolfpack cornerback to score on a 15 yard touchdown to make it 26-20.The Wolfpack answered by methodically moving down the field to punch in a score with 2:47 seconds left on the clock and take a 27-26 lead.That was more than enough time to answer for Zurn and the Breaker Boys, however. Zurn was perfect on the drive, completing all his passes and running for two crucial first downs. On a third down, he hit Brandon Heffelfinger with a touchdown pass that was negated by a holding penalty. But Zurn bounced right back to hit tight end Monty Lash with a 20-yard pass for a first and goal from the two-yard line with :47 on the clock.After losing yardage on first down, Zurn hit Schreppel for his second touchdown of the game putting the Breaker Boys up 32-27. Nunemacher added the two-point conversion and PV would hold the Wolfpack off on the two yard line as time expired.Bryant Butala had six tackles and forced a fumble to lead the Breaker Boys defensively. Dave Boyle, Tony Stoeckel, Shane Kaufman and Josh Eisenhower all had five tackles.The Breaker Boys, now 3-3 on the season, visit the Mountain Top Reapers on Saturday in a game that has major playoff implications.
