Volunteers clean new Tamaqua Community Arts Center

ANDREW LEIBENGUTH/TIMES NEWS A number of volunteers came together recently to clean the downstairs of the Tamaqua Community Center. They want to have the downstairs readily available for future events, such as crafting classes which will be held in the basement area starting on Thursday April 5 at 6 p.m. Another cleanup session, to include painting, will be held this Sunday at the center, 125 Pine St., starting at noon. All are invited. Contributors are encouraged to bring paint brushes, paint rollers and a gallon of exterior semi-gloss white paint. For more information contact center director Micah Gursky at (570) 668-6899 or via the Tamaqua Area Community Partnership website, www.tacp.info. Giving the downstairs floor a clean glow are volunteers Kathleen Quinn-Farber, with mop, and Rose Jean Zucuskie.
