An elderly driver was killed in a two vehicle crash that occurred on Tuesday in Northampton County.

Lehigh Township police said the crash occurred about 12:02 p.m. in the 3900 block of SR248 (Lehigh Drive).

According to police Robert Hodes, 74, of Northampton, was driving a GMC Sonoma eastbound when he entered the westbound lane and collided into a Chevrolet Malibu operated by Candy Behler, 47, of Slatington.

Hodes was pronounced dead at the scene by the county coroner's office. Behler was flown by PennStar helicopter to St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill.

Police were assisted at the scene by township fire company volunteers.
