Carbon County Action Committee for Human Services announces that there is an elderly home help assistance program available to residents.
The program provides in-home assistance to income eligible county residents, age 60 and older, who are disabled or recovering from a recent hospital stay or injury and have no one else available and/or capable of assisting with the care of their home or personal needs.
Services are provided for the purpose of ensuring safe and sanitary conditions and may include: light housekeeping; laundry assistance; and/or shopping assistance.
Carbon County residents who meet specific income guidelines and need-related requirements are eligible for the program. Program income eligibility guidelines are: $13,962 annual income for one person; $18,912 for a two-person household; $23,862 for three people; $28,812 for four people; $33,762 for five people. If more than five people in the household, gross annual income increases by $4,950 per person.
Some income exclusions may apply. Anyone in need of assistance or for more information, call the Carbon County Action Committee Office at (610) 377-6400, Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Elderly home help assistance services are made possible through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development pass-through grants from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Community Services Block Grants.
