Sixteen first time offenders in the criminal justice system were placed in Carbon County's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition (ARD) probation program on Thursday by Judge Steven R. Serfass.

If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program their record is wiped clean. However, if a person fails to complete the program, or is revoked from it, the Commonwealth reserves the right to prosecute them on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.

All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted.

Christopher Cassella, 35, of Brodheadsville, was placed on a charge of driving under the influence (DUI). He was arrested on Sept. 24, 2011, along Bridge St., in Lehighton. Given a test, the result was .15BAC.

He was assessed $400 for the program; ordered to get a drug and alcohol (D&A) evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment, license suspended for 30 days, and render 50 hours of community service.

Samuel Adam Ciallella, 27, of Summit Hill, was placed for six months on a DUI charage. He was arrested on Dec. 11, 2011, along SR903 in Penn Forest Township. Given a test, the result was .08BAC.

He was assessed $350, get a D&A evalaution, and render 25 hours of community service.

Amy Sue Fritzinger, 31, of Lehighton, was placed on a retail theft charge. She was arrested on Nov. 7, 2011, for an incident at J&J Coins, in Palmerton.

She was assessed $350, and render 50 hours of community service.

Jacob Floyd Heydt, 23, of Jim Thorpe, was placed on a forgery charge. He was arrested on Nov. 11, 2011, by Jim Thorpe police with Jolaine Herman the listed victim.

He as assessed $350, make restitution of $63.49, and render 50 hours of community service.

Joy A. Jacoby-Brady, 26, of Bath, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on Nov. 12, 2011, along SR209 in Lehighton. Given a test, the result was .14BAC.

She was assessed $400, get a D&A evaluation, license suspended for 30 days, and render 50 hours of community service.

William T. Knappenberger, 44, of Lehighton, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on May 30, 2011, along Lower Nis Hollow Drive, in Mahoning Township. Given a test, the result was .15BAC.

He was assessed $400, get a D&A evaluation, license suspended for 30 days, and render 50 hours of community service.

Nathaniel W. Kunkle, 21, of Lehighton, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on Nov. 19, 2011, along Iron St., in Lehighton. Given a test, the result was .18BAC.

He was assessed $450, get a D&A evaluation, license suspended for 60 days, and render 50 hours of community service.

Kristen Lauren Kuriger, 24, of Warrington, Bucks County, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on June 11, 2011, along Mauch Chunk St., in Mahoning Township. Given a test, the result was .13BAC.

She was assessed $400, get a D&A evaluation, license suspended for 30 days, and render 50 hours of community service.

Chad Mack, 22, of Aquashicola, was placed for six months on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on Dec. 2, 2011, at South and S. Second sts., Lehighton.

He was assessed $350, and render 25 hours of community service.

Lori Ann Meckes, 36, of Jim Thorpe, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on Oct. 15, 2011, along SR903 in Penn Forest Township. Given a test, the result was .16BAC.

She was assessed $450, get a D&A evaluation, license suspended for 60 days, and render 50 hours of community service.

Christopher John Rizzo, 21, of Effort, was placed for six months on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on Oct. 26, 2011, along the turnpike in East Penn Township.

He was assessed $350, get a D&A evaluation, and render 25 hours of community service.

Eric Rahn Rudy, 52, of Dunmore, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on Nov. 12, 2011 along SR903 in Penn Forest Township. Given a test, the result was .08BAC.

He was assessed $350, get a D&A evaluation, and render 50 hours of community service.

Lance S. Stein, 29, of Lehighton, was placed for 18 months on a charge of possession of marijuana. He was arrested on Aug. 24, 2011, at his residence.

He was assessed $350, get a D&A evaluation, and render 75 hours of community service.

Jeremy D. Stuckley, 34, of Lehighton, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on Nov. 24, 2011, along SR443 in Mahoning Township. Given a test, the result was .25BAC.

He was assessed $450, get a D&A evaluation, license suspended for 60 days, and render 50 hours of community service.

Ashley M. Troxell, 22, of Lehighton, was placed on a charge of DUI. She was arrested on Nov. 19, 2011, along Bridge St., in Lehighton. Given a test, the result was .22BAC.

She was assessed $450, get a D&A evaluation, license suspended for 60 days, and render 50 hours of community service.

Each defendant must also pay court costs, which average about $1,000, and pay a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program.
