A Northampton County driver is facing a driving under the influence (DUI) charge following an incident that occurred in Jim Thorpe on Feb. 17, about 9:50 p.m.

Borough police said a green in color Ford Explorer was observed being driven the wrong way on Race St., a one way street. A vehicle stop was made and the driver was identified as William Michael Tworkowsky, 18, of 955 Wood Rd., in Danielsville.

Tworkowsky showed signs of intoxication and failed field sobriety tests. He was then placed under arrest and transported to the Lehighton hospital for a blood test. The results of the test revealed a .17BAC.

Tworkowsky has been charged with two counts of DUI and a summary violation for one-way street.

Police noted that Tworkowsky had three juvenile passengers, a 17-year-old male from Lehighton, and two females, ages 17 and 16, both from Bath. They were found to be under the influence and were all cited for underage drinking.
