The Rev. John Keiter Jr., center, former chairman of Shepherd House Inc. in Carbon County, was recently honored by his peers for his service to the community through the food pantries. Charles Hettler, left, chairman of Shepherd House Inc., left, and Stanley Haupt, right, executive director of Shepherd House, presented the plaque to Keiter during Carbon County's food pantry meeting. He was recognized in front of representatives from many of the food pantries in Carbon County. Keiter, who was honored by the recognition, served Shepherd House and Second Harvest Food Bank in various ways over the years. He was on the board of Shepherd House for over 15 years; serving as chairman three of those years.
