Carboard Box Derby held at Blue Mountain

What contraption is made out of cardboard, and held together with duct tape, glue or string?

The answer is a Cardboard Box Derby, as was presented by the Northern Valley District Cub Scout Sunday at Blue Mountain Ski Area in Palmerton.

Over 100 Scouts and family members from Minsi Trails Council participated in the event, whereby Cub Scouts were transported in the device down a snow-covered hill.

The device could be a car, boat, flying saucer, or anything that could be built that utilized the aforementioned materials.

Heidi Lutz, director of marketing, said the event was a big hit with participants.

"We couldn't have been more excited to have the Boy Scouts here at Blue Mountain," Lutz said. "It was a great event."
