Carbon County 4-H Reunion Committee is holding a quilting contest in conjunction with the centennial celebration. The contest is open to anyone in the county, whether they were a 4-H member or not.

One square will be chosen and sent to Penn State University where a centennial quilt will be created and auctioned in September. The rest will be made into a quilt or wall hanging and auctioned at the 4-H reunion.Quilt squares should be made of prewashed cotton fabrics only. The completed square should be 10 inches by 10 inches with a -inch allowance for putting the squares together. The submitted block should measure 10.5 inches by 10.5 inches. The block may be patchwork, appliqué or a combination of both.If drawing or writing on the fabric, use permanent fabric markers only. Any writing design should not go into the -inch seam allowance.Quilt squares should represent a historical or current event, program, or person of Pennsylvania 4-H. Squares may represent county programming or events/activities at the state level.
