Pocono Services for Families and Children (PSFC) began 45 years ago from a six-week pilot program with 12 children on the campus of East Stroudsburg University to now serving over 200 children and their families. There are six classroom locations throughout Monroe County. It provides supportive services for young children and their families to promote success in school and life.
It is a non- profit agency that provides comprehensive supportive services for the community's most vulnerable young children and their families, meeting varied and unique challenges of needy and disabled children in the community.
PSFC's major programs and services include the following:
*Head Start of Monroe County providing high quality pre-kindergarten learning, health, family services and disabilities services to low-income families with children ages 3-5 years.
*PA Pre K Counts provides pre-kindergarten education for 3 and 4 year olds in the East Stroudsburg Area School District who are "at risk" for school failure.
*Full Day Child Care classrooms to support working parents and those receiving subsidy are available in Brodheadsville, Coolbaugh and East Stroudsburg.
