A Carbon County business has been cited by the Wilkes-Barre enforcement office of the state liquor control board.

Weissport House Inc., Bridge and White Streets., Weissport, has been cited for possessed or operated gambling devices or paraphernalia or permitted gambling or lotteries, poolselling and/or bookmaking on licensed premises. The alleged violation occurred on Nov. 3, 2011.

The charge will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious ones. In addition, the judge can also impose a license suspension or revocation of the license based on the severity of the charge brought.
