Lehighton Woman's Club installs new officers

Members of the Lehighton Woman's Club gathered for their spring dinner last week at Normal Square Inn in Mahoning Township.

The evening included entertainment and the installation of officers for 2012-2013, as well as a sharing of the club's history from 1953 through the present.The club will celebrate its 100th anniversary next year.Joan Hanosek conducted the installation ceremony, where Shirley Rodgers, president of the club for the last four years, passed her gavel to new club president Nancy Carlson.Cheryl Guerra will now take on the duties of club vice president. Rena Exner will continue as treasurer, while Lisa Everett will continue as secretary.Prior to dinner being served, club members and guests enjoyed some musical entertainment, courtesy of HTO Services Song and Dance Group. Comprised of Jake Tokosh, Karen Kappes, Katie Evans, Teah Garrison and Jonathan Rodgers, the singers performed two numbers from their upcoming spring show, "Motown in Motion." The songs included "Build Me Up Buttercup" and "Stop! In the Name of Love."The Lehighton Woman's Club meets in the evening on the first Monday of each month at Trinity Lutheran Church, Third and Iron streets, Lehighton.
