State police at Fern Ridge announced special traffic patterns that will go into effect on Sunday for the Pocono 400 race at the Pocono International Raceway at Long Pond, Monroe County.

Prior to the race SR115, from Interstate 80, to the raceway will be converted to two lanes southbound only. It will go into effect at 8 a.m. and continue until all traffic has entered the track grounds.

Following the race SR115 will be converted to two lanes northbound only to I80. It will stay this way until the raceway lots are cleared and will begin with 25 laps remaining in the race.

Stoney Hollow Road has been designated a no parking and tow away zone from Long Pond Road to I80 overpass. It will be properly posted and enforced. Any vehicle found in violation will be removed at the owner's expense.

Following the race I80 eastbound off-ramp at Blakeslee (Exit 284), will be closed to traffic.

Traffic coming south to the race in the two lanes of 115 will be required to enter specific parking areas. Motorists should take note of signs posted along 115 and travel in the appropriate traffic lanes for their desired parking area.

Likewise, outbound traffic traveling north will face similar signs with lane restrictions for I80 and SR115.

Travelers should expect higher traffic volume and possible delays not only on 115 and 80, but also on state routes 209, 940 and 903. Those who normally utilize SR115 to travel through the area should consider using I80 or state routes 209 and 33, and the Northeast Extension of the turnpike, as alternate routes.
